The Galaxy A71 sits at the top of Samsung's 2020 A-series and is built around a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display — the "Plus" designation indicating a full RGB sub-pixel matrix rather than PenTile, which results in sharper text and finer detail at the same resolution. Powered by the Snapdragon 730 chipset (rather than an Exynos processor, unusual for this price point), the A71 delivers noticeably smoother performance than the A51. When the screen is cracked or develops AMOLED burn-in or dead zones, a replacement from £79 restores both the Super AMOLED Plus quality and the in-display fingerprint sensor that is embedded in the panel.
The A71's 4500 mAh battery supports 25W fast charging — a meaningful real-world benefit over the A51's 15W — but the cell can degrade after several years of daily use. We carry A71-compatible batteries rated for the 25W charging rate and fit them from £45.
